The Board of the Charities Regulatory Authority has approved the designation of Ms Helen Martin to perform the functions of the CEO on an acting-up basis.  The position of acting CEO commenced on Tuesday, 30 October 2018 and will cease on the formal appointment of a CEO under the Charities Act 2009.

Ms Martin’s appointment follows the resignation of John Farrelly as Chief Executive.  Prior to her appointment, Ms Martin was the Director of Regulation at the Charities Regulator.  Mr Farrelly stepped down to take up the post of Chief Executive of the Mental Health Commission.

A public recruitment process to select a new Chief Executive of the Charities Regulator is due to commence in the near future.
