The Charities Regulator has imposed intermediate sanctions on Husky Rescue Ireland (Registered Charity Number 20150983) under section 73 of the Charities Act 2009.
The intermediate sanctions have been imposed due to the failure of the charity to keep proper books of account as required by section 47 of the Charities Act 2009.
The Regulator issued a notice to Husky Rescue Ireland under section 73 of the Charities Act 2009 on 6 May 2025. The charity’s trustees accepted the sanctions and have given an undertaking to:
- Rectify the contravention, no later than 12 October 2025, by having the charity’s financial statements for the year ended 31 December 2024 signed off by an accountant and approved by the members of the charity
- Accept the imposition of the intermediate sanctions
- Take the necessary steps to ensure that the contravention does not reoccur.
The intermediate sanctions consist of the following:
- Removal of the charity from the Register of Charities from 12 May 2025 until 12 October 2025
- Publication of the contravention on the Charities Regulator’s website
