The Charities Regulator and the Approved Housing Bodies Regulatory Authority (AHBRA) have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to further enhance public trust and confidence in the approved housing bodies (AHB) and Irish charity sectors. There are 450 organisations deemed registered on the AHB Register, the majority of which are registered charities.

The MoU provides a framework for cooperation between the Charities Regulator and ABHRA in appropriate cases and will contribute to the effective regulation of AHBs and Irish registered charities.

Under the terms of the MoU, the two organisations may share information for the purpose of the performance of their respective functions.
